It’s a question we learned to ask, thanks to the business email compromise scenario, in our incident response tabletop tests.
If we are keeping our email retention offsite, maybe we would be better off managing what we keep in the email stores of our users?
If you haven’t yet done this, you should consider what is in your email and how much, during your next risk assessment.
