20 Years of Driving Security Excellence at infotex!
The latest edition of Executive Vice President Michael Hartke’s article series!
This October, during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we are proud to also celebrate Sean’s 20th anniversary with Infotex. His two decades of service reflect not only personal dedication, but also the steady, long-term commitment required to keep our Clients secure in an ever-changing digital landscape.
On a personal note, Sean and I first worked together at a printing and marketing company in Cincinnati, OH. When he made the move to Infotex, Sean brought me along as a NOC Associate, introducing me to the world of cybersecurity. For that, I will always be thankful—Sean opened the door to the career I have today. He has always been a friend first, and then a colleague, and that foundation of trust and respect continues to define how we work together at Infotex.

For those of you who are not familiar, Sean Waugh, CISSP, MCSA, serves as infotex’s Information Security Officer and Lead Technical Auditor, playing a critical role in the company’s technical growth and operational success.
Sean joined infotex in October 2005 as a NOC Associate and quickly established himself as a trusted expert in network security. In 2007, he became Lead Technical Auditor, introducing a structured approach to IT audits that significantly enhanced risk identification and mitigation for our Clients. His work in penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and social engineering exercises set a high bar for quality and effectiveness.
In 2012, Sean advanced to Information Security Officer, where he leads policy enforcement, develops security strategies, and manages the technical team. Under his leadership:
- Our Development Team launched Triguard®, infotex’s third-generation SIEM solution, which Sean continues to oversee as Development Team Lead.
- Audit methodologies were strengthened, improving depth and precision in risk assessments.
- Penetration testing practices evolved, aligning with the sophistication of emerging cyber threats.
- Infrastructure modernization accelerated, enabling Infotex to deliver scalable and resilient managed security services.
Sean’s technical expertise and strategic leadership have helped Infotex maintain its reputation as a trusted MSSP for various regulated industries, delivering security solutions that meet the highest standards of integrity and performance.
